Meet E. Brian Johnson
Counsellor: Teens & Young Adults
I champion teens and young adults, helping them find their way forward. I have formal training in counselling and I studied under clinical director, psychotherapist and author Trish Scott HSC. I work with Trish at Reconnect Counselling, a practice that serves clients in the Ontario Criminal Justice system.
Young adults and teens respond to me because in addition to working as a counsellor, I am an artist and music producer - and tech start-up founder. While I’ve experienced success over the years, I've also had to overcome significant challenges. My life experience means I am able to help others find their path - and passion.
I have a focus on addictions and digital health. My process engages young people by building trust and meeting them "where they are at". If your teen or young adult is having difficulty at school or finding their direction, or if they are being disruptive at home and not living up to their potential, I can help. I help them claim their individuality and take pride in their accomplishments. We work together to create a vision for the future that they can be excited about. I've a seen results in as few as three sessions.
I work with many young people who are are facing charges within the criminal justice system. However, if they have been diagnosed with severe behavioural or mental health issues, I am not the right fit. I do however have an excellent referral network and I will help if I can.
Everything starts with a free phone call to assess if I can be of service.

Champion Youth Counselling
Is it time to ask for help?
If you are tired of the constant fighting, the disrespect, the drug use, the lack of self-discipline and the bad influence your young adult maybe having on their siblings, it's time to ask for help.
Or maybe your kid just seems a little lost. Their friends have all gone off to college and they are still kicking around the neighbourhood with no firm plans to move ahead. I can help with that too.
You are not alone. Read my testimonials, I can probably help. It starts with a simple phone call.

Communication
No more fighting! Developing better communication skills in your young adult will help create closer relationships with friends and family.
Confidence
We'll build more confidence and self assurance in your kid. Developing better social skills is key to making friends.
Direction
Discovering academic strengths. Finishing school. Finding a passion. Getting a job. Starting a career. Moving forward!

Mental Health
Late teens and early twenties can be a very stressful time - for kids and the parents that love them. Providing young adults a safe and private space to explore issues that are affecting them is key to supporting their mental health.
Drug Use
& Digital Health
If occasional drug use has become a habit, or if screen time and online behaviour has become an issue, its time to step in.
Criminal Justice System
If your young adult has ended up in the justice system, my network can help create a better outcome - and provide you with the support you need as a parent.
